Mentoring/Peer Support

At Homehealthservices, we encourage people with disability to approach life and goals with enthusiasm and to be accepting of self, others and have positive attitude. We encourage them to examine beliefs and ideals to establish personal values and goals.

We encourage clients/participants to use a creative problem-solving process to be attentive listener and an assertive questioner. Encourage them to recognize individual strengths and uniqueness and to build on them. We assist them in developing self-confidence.

Homehealthservices understand another’s situation empathically through the shared experience of emotional and psychological pain. Peer support can help develop our ability to think critically about “who we’ve become.” It helps us learn to sit with discomfort while we explore the relational dynamics that have kept us stuck and helps us look at our own reactivity.
